Jacques Averna
Since 2019, Jacques Averna has been designing objects and spaces that combine simple functionality, low-tech principles, and a touch of humour. His practice focuses on creating visual and technical signage objects that seamlessly respect their context, while collaborating closely with industries and techniques rooted in popular traditions. He also harnesses natural energies - such as water, light, and wind - to design objects that make these invisible flows tangible. Winner of the Grand Prix at the Villa Noailles (Design Parade), he has developed his research through various creative programmes, including residencies at Cirva and the Institut Français. Alongside his studio practice, he teaches at Ensad in Paris, and his work has been acquired by french public collections such as the Mobilier National and the CNAP.
