Gardening. Shaping the Landscape
This workshop explores the landscape as a material and imaginative construct, through practices that span drawing, painting and sculpture.
Starting from direct observation and the experience of the Arte Sella setting, participants will work with organic materials, developing images and sculptural elements that exist somewhere between two-dimensional and three-dimensional.
The process combines gathering, observation and transformation: what is encountered in the landscape is reworked into a personal visual language. Natural elements, objects and fragments are translated into signs, volumes and compositions that oscillate between the recognizable and the abstract.
Through manipulation, assembly and the construction of the image, each participant will develop their own repertoire, eventually giving shape to a constellation of works — images and elements — intended as fragments of a possible landscape. The workshop invites participants to shape the landscape, working on the boundary between observation and invention.
